Planting in Byron Bay & the Northern Rivers
Plants chosen by our qualified horticulturist for the position they are actually going into, and turf laid on ground that has been prepared to take it rather than rolled out over whatever was there.

Planted for the wind
On the headland at Skennars Head everything we planted was already growing on the dune behind it. Pandanus and coastal grasses, straight into beds cut through the paving. Salt wind kills most things in that position, so the plant list came off the dune rather than out of a nursery brochure.
How we work
The Northern Rivers will grow almost anything, and salt wind will kill most of it within sight of the water. Fifty metres can be the difference between a plant thriving and a plant sulking for three years, so we choose for the aspect, the exposure and the soil on your block rather than from a catalogue.
Turf is the same story underneath. Ground preparation, levels and drainage decide whether a new lawn knits in or dies in patches over its first summer. We prepare, lay and tell you exactly how to water it through the first fortnight, which is when most new lawns are lost.
